The Pre-accelerator program is a national-level program designed to support growth-stage startups in Kosovo that are ready to scale, access new markets, and prepare for investment. Built around a 15-week intensive format, the program provides hands-on strategic consulting, tailored mentoring, and investor-focused preparation to help startups strengthen their business model, validate their market approach, and become investment-ready. The program aims to close the post-incubation gap by helping startups move from early validation to scalable growth through expert guidance, strategic partnerships, and exposure to investors.

The startup must be launched or have at least a functional MVP.

Inside the
Program

From application to Pitch Day, the program follows a structured journey designed to assess your startup’s needs, develop a tailored growth strategy, and prepare you for scaling and investment.

1.Opening of the call

The program begins with an open call for applications. Startups seeking to scale and prepare for investment are invited to apply by submitting detailed business information and materials required here.

2.Pre-Selection of beneficiaries

After receiving applications, a rigorous screening process will be conducted. Shortlisted startups will be invited to pitch and participate in interviews to assess their coachability, product viability, and market readiness. Selection is based on transparent evaluation criteria, including market validation, MVP functionality, financial projections, and pitch quality. Only the most promising candidates will be selected to join the program

3.Needs Assessment

Selected beneficiaries undergo an in-depth needs assessment facilitated by MICP and expert mentors. This phase includes structured interviews and surveys to analyze the startup’s development stage, strengths, challenges, and growth potential.

4.Assessment & Strategy document development

Drawing on the findings of the needs assessment, a dedicated “Assessment and strategy document” is created for each startup. Developed in collaboration with expert consultants, this document outlines a customized roadmap with clear, actionable steps for achieving growth, securing investment, and entering new markets.

5.Mentoring and Consultancy Sessions

Based on their strategy documents, startups receive hands-on, specialized mentoring and consultancy support. These 1:1 sessions will be led by a professional and renowned consultancy firm Recura Consultancy, covering areas such as financial structuring, legal advice, investment readiness, and business planning. The sessions are designed to help each beneficiary implement their strategy effectively and progress toward sustainable scaling. MICP actively monitors and supports the implementation process, ensuring progress is consistent and on track.

6.Networking sessions

To help participating startups build meaningful connections, the program will host structured networking opportunities. Each startup will be introduced to relevant partners from the business or investor ecosystem. These interactions are crucial for building credibility, exploring collaborations, gaining industry insights, and increasing visibility.

7.Pitch Day

This event is a showcase of the progress made and an opportunity to attract interest, funding, and partnerships. Startups present their validated business models and growth strategies, aiming to secure support for their next phase of development.

No, participation in the program is free for the selected startups.

The program does not take any equity, shares, or ownership in the company, even if the startup secures investment during or after the program.

The application can be submitted in Albanian or English, but it must be clear and well-structured.

Yes, as long as they meet the program’s criteria (validated product, market presence, functional team).

Yes. The program is open to startups from all over Kosovo, provided they are able to actively participate in the program.

The program will be delivered in a hybrid format both at Makerspace Innovation Center Prizren and online.

Startups will present their business at a Pitch Day in front of potential investors and partners. After that, additional support will be provided for strategy implementation for up to 3 months.
